About Us

Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, a nonprofit organization, was formed in 1989. DII is the proven, affordable path to reading for children and adults with dyslexia.

We support adults and children with dyslexia, and provide tools to professionals so they can help these families and children.

DII provides direct educational services, promotes public awareness about dyslexia, and advocates for the provision of timely and appropriate treatment.

DII is a member of the International Dyslexia Association. IDA has been a pioneer in providing the professional and private sector with information about the diagnosis and successful tutoring strategies to overcome the processing barriers facing individuals with dyslexia. However, IDA’s charter prohibits it from providing direct services. DII was formed as a separate and independent agency to provide such programs. Operational and scholarship funds are obtained through grants, individual and corporate donations and through fund-raising events. DII uses the nationally recognized multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham approach in tutoring.
