Camp Delafield’s approach is to teach the “whole child” –academics, self esteem, social skills and motivation. Campers return to school with a more positive outlook and renewed dedication to their studies.
Camp Delafield is a summer day camp for children between the ages of 7-16. We provide both an intense academic program and a diverse arts and recreational program with learning opportunities to strengthen organizational, gross and fine motor skills.
Youth Camp – ages 7-12
During the mornings, children receive one-on-one tutoring, as well as small group instruction, while the afternoons are devoted to sports and recreation. The morning’s activities include:
- One-on-one Orton–Gillingham tutoring
- Small groups focused on reading comprehension, written
and oral expression
- Dynamic arts programs
- Intense handwriting, spelling and vocabulary sessions
During the afternoons, the recreation program helps campers strengthen organizational, gross and fine motor skills; oral expression ability; directionality; and self esteem. Activities include:
- Swimming
- Field Trips
- Non-competitive sports
- Instructional games
- Visual and performing arts
- Basketball camp provided by the Indiana Pacers
- Other fun and recreational activities
